Images won't show in publish mode

Recently I was adding a new page and under draft mode I was able to see the images contained in that page. Once I publish the page all the images disappear and the only way is to replace the relative link of every image to an absolute link. How this can happen ? and why the other images loaded days ago with the relative link are still visible ? Thanks for any help.
