  • Are you getting an error message? If so what is it?
Have you installed anything new? Updated plugins?
Could your host be having issues?

    Yes, the error message:

    Uploading
    Dismiss Errors
Error DSC_2323.JPG An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

I haven’t installed anything new, everything is the same as it was this past weekend. I thought my image was too big, but it’s under the 7MB. When I get the message, I “dismiss” it, then go to the drop down menu and select “image only” and it comes up in my menu, uploaded. I’m muddling through, but it’s frustrating

Have you tried another? Perhaps that image is corrupted?
I’m just guessing here.. I hate when this happens too.

    7MB shouldn’t be the issue.

I would also try another browser.
I would try re-installing WordPress — just by going to update and clicking the re-install button.
I would try deactivating all my plugins.

Oh and the magical trick, which the IT crowd recommend. Rebooting my laptop.

    Damn technology… 🙁

Haha! I haven’t rebooted, but will try that. If I reinstall WP will I lose my site? Totally new to this, but I have put many hours into putting it together and I am totally scared of losing my blog.

I have tried many photo’s, moved them off my memory card and tried uploading them from the desktop even.

I will also try another browser if rebooting doesn’t work.

    Thanks for the input 🙂

Reinstalling WP Core files will do nothing to your site data as long as you remember to :

1 – do not replace the wp-content folder
2 – do not change the wp-config file in root
3 – do not touch the DB or reinstall DB …

    as for your problem :

The error can also be a bad internet connection.
At any rate , to troubleshoot , you should :
    1 . deactivate all plugins
2 . revert to default theme
    3 . use 2/3 different browsers .
    4. reboot Network (wifi) and computer .
5 . if all fails , reinstall core files.

I figured it out! Yeah! After doing most of what was suggested…then hating the thought of reloading WP… I stumbled upon the culprit. My media settings. REALLY? That’s all it was. I changed my settings to “large” 5000×5000 to make sure I was covered. I have my pixel setting pretty large on my camera, so this fixed it.
Thanks for all the comments and suggestions!!!
