• Hi,

My first installation of MU, but I’m a developer, so hopefully someone can help me figure this one out.

I have a main domain, say example.com (cpanel) I created a subdomain realsite.example.com and then mapped realsite.com to realtime.example.com and parked realsite.com but when I go to realsite.com in chrome browser, all is well… but in FF it redirects to realsite.example.com.

Have I missed something? Domain options 1,3,4 and 5 are checked.

    Thanks

Which one is set as the primary domain? Also, which browser did you use when setting up and testing the domain? Sometimes browsers cache redirects and continue to use the cached redirect until they are restarted.

when I go to Network –> Settings –> Domains I see realsite.com and it claims it to be primary. It is set for blog 7, which was set up to be realsite.example.com.

    Does that make sense?

That’s the setting you want based on your original post.

I use Chrome most days, so I assume it was Chrome.

Do we know why it forwards? I assume that is WordPress doing the forward, rather than just serving the info up for the domain.

Would it help you to know the real domains?

ieditvdo.com is the real site, ieditvdo.vspwebandvideo.com is the subdomain I set up originally, then mapped the domain to that.

    Thanks for the help!

There is nothing in the DM plugin that redirects based on browser type. The reason I was asking about the browser was

Sometimes browsers cache redirects and continue to use the cached redirect until they are restarted.

If it’s working for one browser and not another then the reason for it is in one of the browsers or the other. Try clearing the cache on the browser.

I cleared cache in FF & Chrome.

When I go to ieditvdo.com it forwards to ieditvdo.vspwebandvideo.com on FF but still stays at ieditvdo.com in chrome.

What does it do for you?

Does not redirect in either Chrome of FF. Have you tried it on a different computer?
