What is a “yellow pages-like section”? I mean, I know what a phone book is, but I’m having difficulty understanding what you’re talking about in reference to a web page.

A Yellow Pages site will need a backend DB and the frontend where people can offer and search for services. So:
a) Is there a package (similar to wordpress) that can be installed on a server and…
b) Could this be incorporated with a wordpress installation
?
Well, I’d say that the answers are:
a) Probably.
b) Probably.
I mean, I don’t know of a specific one, but there’s likely one out there that will do what you want, and virtually anything can be incorporated with WordPress with some custom work.
Would anyone know of a php or perl based ‘yellow pages’ script? Preferably something free and community developed.

I’ve been looking for the same “yb” plug-in myself. I’ve had not luck.
