hi! i want thumb image displayed when hovered, and post title displayed as default. is that posssible?

The solution offered in this thread might help get you partway there:

Then you could hide/show the image using CSS, setting it to display: none or visibility: hidden, then on :hover, set it back to display: block or visibility: visible to show it.
