Top Menu Link to About Page in Cutline 3 Column Theme

I need basic help on using WordPress to create pages in subdirectories. I used to create HTML in Dreamweaver. I then dabbled with WordPress online version. I am now learning the full WordPress system with 2.2 (yes i know 2.3 just came out but not going there yet).

I am using the “Cutline 3-Column Split 11” theme. That theme has top menu links to Archives and About. I don’t know how to create those subdirectory pages using the WordPress system. I can go into FTP (using BlueHost btw) and create the Archive and About directories, but I dont know how to populate those directories with a page from my WordPress program. This sounds like it should be easy enough to do, but i can’t figure it out. Help please.
