Autocomplete Orders

I created a site for a client and they have issues with needing to go into wordpress and update the order from pending to shipped to complete, etc. They want the order to autocomplete after submitting the order. I founda site that discusses how to do this for virtual products found here but I need it for all products as the site sells phones and stuff.

Does anyone have any tips or examples on how to do this? Thanks
