• I’ve successfully got PodPress up and running, the streaming is right, I fixed the bug with $this (PHP5 depriciated this for some reason), so my permalinks are working right now. When you stream a file, it works great, however if you click on download, it tries to use the browser to play the media. You can however right click, and save as but would prefer to make it show the save dialog. Im running drupal on the same server with the Audio Module, and it works correctly so pretty sure it doesnt have to do with Apache Config. I installed the Audio module before PodPress trying to find a plugin to suit my needs, but uninstalled it and removed the files from the wp-contend/plugins folder.

Right now, podpress is the only plugin i have installed, and if you wanna see this behavior first hand, goto my testing site. http://www.djkelso.com/wp

Thanks in advance! Im liking WordPress a lot as of right now, and once I get this sorted, I’ll be migrating my theme and making this my default.

You have a name, congratulations 🙂

FYI, I’ve gone ahead and moved the site to the root, so if it doesn’t come up, remove the trailing /wp.

Thanks Guys! Im really enjoying wordpress now, just need this little quirk fixed.

Wish I could register on the PodPress forums, since I might get better support their. Looks like either the mail queue on the server is hosed, or email validation is broken. Now signed up with 3 different accounts, no emails received.

    Hi fffizzz,

I’m having the same problem with the download option… it’s using a fresh browser to open the file instead of giving an option to save. I noticed that you got this working on your site. Just wondering what you did?

I too, can’t register on the podpress forum… driving me mad trying to find answers. Anyway, hope you can help!

I believe my PodPress links behave the same way for “Download”… So I usually just write in my post “to Download the mp3 Right-Click and Save As…”

I did not realize there was a way to make it always launch the Save dialog, thought it was basically a user-setup thing that browsers want to open mp3 links unless you right-click (?)
