I've just run the upgrade, and what I'm getting is the following:

WordPress database error: [Table 'whit32.wp_terms' doesn't exist]
    SELECT t.*, tt.*, tr.object_id FROM wp_terms AS t INNER JOIN wp_term_taxonomy AS tt ON tt.term_id = t.term_id INNER JOIN wp_term_relationships AS tr ON tr.term_taxonomy_id = tt.term_taxonomy_id WHERE tt.taxonomy IN ('category', 'post_tag') AND tr.object_id IN (3854, 3853, 3852, 3851, 3850, 3849, 3848, 3847, 3846, 3845, 3844, 3843, 3842, 3841, 3840, 3839, 3838, 3837, 3835, 3834) ORDER BY t.name ASC

Also, whenever I try to get the admin page, I am directed to the upgrade page, and have to press the "upgrade now" link. Then I am given a blank page instead of the expected "upgrade complete" page.

The site loads, after a fashion, but the error message above is sprinkled throughout. What can I do?

That tells me the upgrade hasn't successfully finished.

I'd first consider deleting the WordPress files and reuploading as per Steps 7 and 8 in Upgrading_WordPress_Extended.

You also may need to force a database upgrade.

OK, now it says that it's upgraded, but the admin page appears without css styling of any kind, and I get a 500 error when trying to access the blog at its regular address.

    What should I try next?

(Just now, I erased all old wp files and put in all the new ones.)
