Add Front page Content Area over the circles?

    I desire to add a slideshow just on the front page over the circles.
    I am using ‘portfolio slideshow pro’ plugin which allows adding shortcode to a widget.
    How to create a new widget?
    How to get that widget onto the Front Page–a template?
    My guess is by modifiying the ‘content-home.php’ file… any ideas are welcome!…
