    Hi everybody.

I have a blog in mi site for more than two years, it's 1.5.1.2.

    Very old, doesn't?

I want to try the new 2.3, but I'd like to know if there may be a problem if I do that upgrade, or symple I should do a fresh install.

    Thanks for any comments!

No, do an upgrade. But upgrade to 2.0.11 first, then upgrade that to 2.2.3.

In theory, I've upgraded from a 1.5.x blog to 2.2 but others have had problems so do it in two steps as suggested above.

    Older versions available here:

Of course, please have backups of your WordPress files and database before beginning the process. See WordPress Backups.

The only other thing to keep in mind is that there is a chance that the upgrade will break your theme if it is that old. If you keep a backup, if you need to reverse the upgrade you can go back if you aren't willing to fix your theme or find a new one.

Ok, it was easier than I thought.

I was really afraid of upgrading my blog, I feared total mayhem, but following instructions was straightforward.

    I've installed 2.0.11 and I'm looking forward to 2.3

    Thanks!
