How admin gets notification on edited posts in WordPress?

    I am trying to add a feature to a community-based site that notifies admin when the users add or edit their posts. My admin needs to get notified when a user adds or edits the post right away so she can monitor the posts for quality. It seems to be simple but I still haven’t found a good plugin that actually works.

    I tried Draft Notification plugin. It works for the first time an author adds a new post, (in fact it send emails to all users which is not good for our site) But it doesn’t send notifications after that when the user edits her post again.

    Does anybody know of a simple plugin (or complicated) which does that please?
    My WordPress version is 3.0, but if I need to update it to work with a certain plugin, I will.

    In WordPress 3.5.1, I have these options and more at Dashboard > Settings > Discussion:

    E-mail me whenever
    E-mail me whenever Anyone posts a comment
    E-mail me whenever A comment is held for moderation

    Before a comment appears
    An administrator must always approve the comment
    Comment author must have a previously approved comment

    Comment Moderation
    Hold a comment in the queue if it contains x or more links.

    My WordPress version is 3.0, but if I need to update it to work with a certain plugin, I will.

    You should update WP period. You’re likely to have security vulnerabilities and compatibility issues by using an old version.

    WPyogi, You are right about updating, I am just hesitating because I have some plugins that have been modified manually and might not be compatible with new version.

    leejosepho, thanks for reply! Actually, what I need notification for is not the comments but new and edited posts. I don’t know if there is a similar settings for posts too? As far as I know there is not.
