I just received a wordpress file change warning from Better WP Security for files that were modified months and years ago. I haven’t made any file changes in over a week and the alert is a long list of files with modified dates from 2011, 2012, and 2013. I don’t see any evidence of hacking on my site but I don’t know what would trigger this alert. What would cause this to happen? Thank for the help!

    Hi,

I got similar warning last week. Actually, the report listed that ALL of the files have been modified, even if they had a last modified date of january.

Any idea why I got this?

    Regards

Yes me too, not sure about all the files but 3500 at least. I assume that WP does some automatic updating – cos I certainly didn’t. I guess Better WP Security is in the frame though since I just installed it last week. The issue is, ok files have changed, I didn’t change them, the site seems ok – now what should I do?
