Whenever one of my visitors want to comment on my blog, they get this message:

Duplicate comment detected; it looks as though you’ve already said that!
Sorry, but your comment has been flagged by the spam filter running on this blog: this might be an error, in which case all apologies. Your comment will be presented to the blog admin who will be able to restore it immediately.
You may want to contact the blog admin via e-mail to notify him.

But when I check my spam filters, there are no comments awaiting moderation, and no proof that anyone has even commented. What do I do?

  • I’m having this problem also. I made a few recent changes to the theme, but I didn’t touch the comment files. I tried updating the permalink structure, no luck there.

    Thoughts?

    I also get the error:
Sorry, posting has been closed for the time being.

Hey, I think I fixed it! I uploaded replacements for these files:

    wp-comments-post.php
    wp-commentsrss2.php

And comments can now be made. I don’t understand what happened. I didn’t make any changes that would have affected those files. But, problem solved.
