gif and png lose transparency

    I have been looking for an answer to this question as well. GIF is an old format that is easy to animate. Why would WordPress, for one, not support transparent animated GIFs as thumbnails but also, why are most of the forum questions asking for help on this subject closed without a solution?

    Question: Is there a solution to have thumbnails of transparent animated GIFs also be transparent animations?
