   Hey,
   ELA's support & development seems to be dead for a while now, however there doesn't seem to be an alternative when it comes to custom archives. Would someone with coding skills accept the challenge of updating this essential WP extension ?

   SRG Clean Archives has one important shortcoming: being date-centered only. If you want a subject-centered organization, it just doesn't cut it... nice for a blog, but not enough for a CMS.
   ELA can be date, category or tag centered, and the reader can switch interactively. I believe that is the main reason so many people stick with it, despit the lack of development. And it supports UTW.

   Fwiw, I had seen a couple of articles referring to a version of ELA which worked with an alpha of WP 2.3. The developer hasn't made an update (afaict) since July, though, so I don't know what state the plugin is in (much of tinyau's blog is in Chinese):

   It looks like this version doesn't support UTW, though, unless I misunderstood the post.

   Thanks, i will try that as soon as i upgrade. I am not sure there will be any other updates from that developer tough, it seems he switched to Habari (and is a commiter)...
   I'll post my results when i am through.

   On a local WP 2.3.1 installation, the modified ELA build from tinyau.net didn't work at all for me. :-( It made my archives.php blank below the heading.

   Consider this a friendly bump. ;)

   I too would like to get my hands on a version of ELA that is compatible with WP 2.3.2.

   Has anyone taken on the challenge and released a new version? (I couldn't get the tinyau.net version to work either.)

    bump.. somebody please make this plugin work with wp2.6.. there is not really a replacement out there at this pt.
