Change Permalinks – Get 404 errors

    When I click the button on the Permalinks section in my dashboard to be ” Post Name ” it breaks the links to my pages. I can see the pages, I can see the navigation, but when I click on them I get a 404 error.

    When I return the permalink to “Default” everything works fine.

    How can I change this? My site is on a shared-host at Host Gator. Right now it is in a sub-file in my current website (which is not wordpress).

    How can I fix this?
