• This seems like it must be a common question, but I couldn’t find info.

My site is basic HTML. I have WordPress up and running. Is there a way to embed my WordPress blog in one of the HTML pages so that I use my site design? I have already found a simple WordPress template that would work great with my site design. I just have to figure out how to insert the blog where I want it.

My apologies if this is a really stupid question – I’m new to this.

  • By definition HTML pages are not dynamic. WordPress is written in PHP because it is dynamic.

Perhaps if you think of the solution from the other side of the coin. Rather than trying to get WP dynamic pages to work within you HTML, why not rephrase the question as, “How do I get my HTML pages to work in WP’s dynamic pages?”

Here are some solutions. You can change the header and footer of the WordPress theme you are using to match your webpage. That will require you are quite proficient with PhotoShop or some other program that can modify graphics. You will also have to make some minor changes in the style.css for WordPress. You would link to this new page from your home page.

Or, you can have a stand-alone blog that looks like or compliments your HTML and use a website newsreader to put the Headlines or Headlines and parts of the blog in a layer on your site. See and scroll down to From the Flagpole. The complete blog is here.

Or, down and dirty, you can use an i-frame to load your blog into a html page.

While the best solution would be to do your entire site in WordPress, I understand that won’t work for some (like me).

Hi, my name is Kelly Anches and I’m from The Netherlands. I would much appreciate it if anyone on this blog would be willing to help me solve the following problems.

I have a wordpress blog running and it helped me indexed my site within a record amount of time. Now I want to integrate my site into my blog, so that my site is now a part of my blog. My site has no grahics whatsoever and it’s a turnoff from my blog to my site and vice versa (BTW: I have the wordpress software installed in a directory of its own).

I followed this thread but the information is too limited for me to continue from here. So my question is: can anyone eloborate on this information and get more into the details about how to do this. I’m willing to comprimize on my site to make this possible.

I would also have one static page as the permanent homepage of this blog.

    Regards and thanx in advance

Just for those who wind up here with a search.

The links posted above by me are no longer accurate as I converted the site to WP.

If I’ve understood your requirements correctly, then what you need to add to static html pages to make them look like they’re part of your WordPress blog is outlined here. be careful with the quote marks
