The Google+ API currently provides read-only access to public data. You cannot use this API to post to your Google+ profile:
https://developers.google.com/+/api/
The Google+ team is currently working on a new API that will give you read and write access, but it’s not available to the public at the moment. As soon as it is, we’ll work on getting Google+ added to the Publicize feature.
In the meantime, you can access our SVN repository here:

I’ve been looking into it. And Yes Google states the API is read-only, but further on it refers to the method Moments: Insert.
Now I don’t consider my self a developer (anymore {reverse engineering is just too difficult and writing “hello world” does not make one a developer}), I am more a hobbyist that knows my limitations. I looked at the SVN and was a bit overwhelmed. But based on what I read and what I can tell of the Publicize feature, would “Moments: Insert” provide what we need?
We looked at this option, and also checked the History APi that is being developed at the moment.
We keep an eye on the development of the Google+ API, and we will post on the Jetpack Blog once we can add Google+ to Publicize!
