What about a built-in way to exclude categories from being teased? it makes no sense to generate teasers for your sidenotes, asides etc.
Would be great if you could include that into the next version.

You could add custom queries to the homepage or whichever page you need, and use negative cats in the query. Look at the codex to do it.
