WordPress Importer Problem

    Hi people,
    I just switched from Squarespace to WordPress and have installed WordPress.org on a webspace from hostingSociety.com. The installation went smoothly and the WordPress blog is at the URL matzpod.hostingsociety.com. However, now when I try to import the exported xml file from Squarespace , I get the message:

    “An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with WordPress.org or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.”

    A new installation of WordPress has not helped, so I turn to you.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    How are you doing the import? We don’t have a Squarespace importer (the ones we have are listed at wp-admin/import.php in your dashboard), so I’m not sure how there could be a problem with WordPress.org that is affecting it. Can you give some details on how you are doing this import and where you got the plugin or instructions you are following?

    Hi there,

    thanks for the quick reply. I am using the Squarespace export tool to pull out my stuff from there in a wordpress file (xml document. Then I try to upload this file via the import tool for wordpress files. And that’s when the message pops up.
