   hi,
   ist there a way to export tags via simple tagging from a previous WP2.2.2. installation?

   if not (i could not find any...) it seems there is a plugin that will allow importing into 2.2.3.s "native tagging"

   That plugin you referred to imports Simple Tags into a 2.3 blog (2.3 is in beta testing cycle right now).

   With WordPress version 2.3 (not 2.2.3) tags become native so that plugin probably wouldn't work on a 2.2.x blog.
