Guide to using iFrames

    I run a very robust and heavily trafficked wordpress site.

    Various parts of my header.php, and both sidebar.php files have external code in them for different ad servers, as well as flickr, etc.

    Additionally, I also use the “In Between” plugin which allows me to insert various codes between the different posts on the front page.

    My question is as follows:

    I’ve been experiencing some issues where the ad server was lagging, and it caused my WHOLE site to hang until the banner was served.

    Is there a guide somewhere that addresses how to use iFrame tags to allow my WordPress part of the site load INDEPENDENTLY of any code relying on external websites?

    I tried hacking around a little with no success.

    I’ve tried using iFrames with wordpress before and it usually loads on itself after my blog loads. I suspect it may be something else that may be keeping your blog from appearing sooner but I may be wrong. What do the mods have to say?

    Not really mods, but more like ad codes… similar to a google ad…

    in my header file, there’s a javascript call to an external ad server, and if that adserver is having issues delivering the code.. the rest of page is held up.

    Is there an alternative way to iFrames that the rest of the page can load even if there’s a problem with an external code?

    FYI- I remove the offending code, and the site loads fast.
