   This morning I turned on Computer #1 (my computer) and went to my blog (springvalleyhoa.org/blog). I saw a Test Post that I created last night. That screen also told me that I was a "logged in as Administrator" and displayed a logout button. When I clicked the logout button, a WordPress login screen appeared. However, it did not recognize the userid and pw I used when I set up the blog. Why not? What userid and pw is the screen looking for?

   So then I turned on Computer #2 and went to my blog (used the same url). I saw just what I expected to see - Test Post, a means to add a comment, and a prefilled username and email address. So I left a comment and received a message that the comment was waiting for moderation. So far so good.

   Then I went back to Computer #1, went to my blog and saw Test Post and an opportunity to add a comment. That's what I expected to see the first time. Why didn't I?

   The blog is hosted by Yahoo.

   Your computer has a cookie set when you logged in the first time. If you don't remember you pw you'll need to reset it using the forgot password feature on the login page.

   Oops, I was editing my post while you were reading the original. I'll try the forgot pw feature...

   Tried the Forgotten PW feature but when I go to my blog now I get an opportunity to add a comment with a prefilled userid and email address.

   Boy, this is confusing.

   If you've added a comment from that computer before most likely it has a cookie stored on it that has the username and email stored in it.

   Ah, that's right! Must have been left over from before I deactivated and reinstalled the blog on my host.

   It appears that one could fake a bunch of comments by registering several different usernames and emails on one's computer then, right?
