  • To my experience high server loads are caused by w3tc only when activated for the first time. Writing the disk cache and shoveling everything to the CDN in a bulk happens once, but then the load returns to normal.

    That was not what was happening in my case; server loads were exceptionally high post-upgrade. They returned to normal when I disabled the plug in. Seems like there was a massive amount of I/O, similar to some other complaints I have seen here about huge INODE numbers.

    Where are the inodes located?
    Are they the actual cache files?
