• Our company is currently in the process of setting up a blog. We have a third party techie who set up a customized site for us, but I’ve gone through it and found a few user-unfriendly issues with it. Is there a way to set up another test site just to see if I encounter these problems myself? Warning: I am a computer novice!!

  • Here are some instructions for installing wordpress. This software isn’t as simple as a click here to install. It takes some technical knowledge, and since your a business most people will just tell you to hire someone to do it for you.

OK, thank you so much. I did try to download and install it myself. I ran into a few problems understanding the directions. Is there any way I can get into contact with the people over at WordPress? Either by contact form, email or phone?

Not really, and they are a tad steep in price — if you are looking for installation support/consultation.

If you need help that you are willing to pay for than your best bet is to leave an email address here as a way for ppl to contact you.

The thread will then be locked to avoid bidding wars.

You can also post to the WP-Pro mailing list @ http://lists.automattic.com/mailman/listinfo/wp-pro

If that’s not enough, there is even this:

Mind you just about any old timer here can install wordpress in 5 minutes unless there are server issues, which isnt often the case.
