I was going through the directions, and I no longer see the directions which include creating the folder blogs.dir. Is this no longer needed?

I did not setup blogs.dir in my multisite install and I seem to not be having any problems except installing a plugin.

I think it’s still needed. When you create your first child site I would expect it to be auto generated.

When I installed it with out blogs.dir it auto created ‘uploads/sites/‘ which is where the blogid folders are located.

If you’re starting with WP 3.5 (NOT upgrading to it, starting WITH it), you don’t need blogs.dir

Yeah I started multisite with 3.5 upgraded from 3.4. No blogs.dir, just wanted to make sure. When I looked at the Codex originally it included that for the install. Thanks.

Just to clarify, the new location is – Uploads/sites/[blogid#]???
