I need only some categories and also different pages on detube

Hi,

I’m using detube theme, but I have found it has limitations on the customization side.

What I need is to have a page and only one page displaying one specific text snippet on the sidebar. I still haven’t discovered if it can be done with the templates I chose for my pages. It doesn’t seem to be possible to add certain text ONLY to one specific page without adding it to all of the other pages.

For example, I have a Contact page, and I want a contact for there, which I have, but I wanted to add also a map to show where I am. It’s been impossible to add that map ONLY to that contact page, because the map is added to all of my pages.

The second problem is with the categories. I have had to create some categories only to allow me to later show some videos and not others in some places, but I don’t want those categories to be shown on the Categories sidebar, because they only make sense to me. I haven’t found a way to display ONLY the categories I want for people to see them. Can that be done?

Also, at the Theme options/Home, I haven’t been able to make sense of this:

“If you want to display specific posts, enter post ids to here, separate ids with commas, (e.g. 1,2,3,4). ” I have tried to select specific posts using numbers to be displayed, and it doesn’t work. I don´t know what they mean with “post IDs”…

Any suggestions would be hugely welcome!
