    Puh, here we have two problems. One with ADI and one with WordPress. ADI didn’t strip the slashes added by WordPress on logon, so “o’harem” is passed to AD as “o\’harem”. That’s easy to fix.
    But WordPress doesn’t allow usernames with apostrophes. Only lowercase letters (a-z) and numbers are allowed. So the user can not be created as “o’harem”. We could strip characters like the apostrophe. But what would happen if we have another, different user with the username “oharem” (without apostrophe) in AD? Both would be mapped to a single user in WordPress. Ouch!

    So what can we do now? Any suggestions?

    BTW: It’s not a good idea to allow usernames with special characters, since this often leads to problems as you can see here.

    This is what I though, thank you! We are in the process of changing our policies with a third-party company who creates our NTLogons.
