.htaccess

ermm, I can’t find my .htaccess file. I’ve used my hosts admin page (not my ftpclient) to serach for this file so it isn’t a ‘hidden file’ probelm. It used to be in the directory and now it isn’t anywhere on my server. I can still loggin to wordpress and use the blog (with some the excpetion of some write and manage functions such as the ‘Comments etc boxes as I mentioned in an earlier problem. I can also change permissions via ftp… any ideas?
