primary post page pagination and recent posts sidebar issues

    Howdy,
    I have been pulling my hair out trying to resolve this. I am a new wordpress user.

    Under WP Reading>Settings Blog pages show at most 15 posts.

    I have tried deactivating the plugins and that has not fixed the problem.

    The issue is:

    On the main page of the site http://www.hibiscusbythebay.com/ you’ll see recent posts and a post grid. These are displaying correctly. But when you go to the blog page http://www.hibiscusbythebay.com/blog/ the page paginates after 2 posts and the recent posts just shows 2 posts.

    The other pages display the recent posts and post grid correctly like here: http://www.hibiscusbythebay.com/get-in-touch-hibiscus-by-the-bay/

    Just the blog pages seem to be messed up.

    I cant figure out why this is happening…or is this the way it is suppose to display?

    Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    if this turns out to be theme specific, it might be either hardcoded or set by theme options (?).

    in this case, please contact the theme’s developer via themeforest for support.

    apart from general help with troubleshooting, this forum does not support commercial themes.

    Thank you folks.
    I have tried all as you have suggested and it seems like it may be something to do with the theme because when all the plugins are deactivated and the plugins folder is reset, there is no change in how the posts are displayed.

    When I activate one of the default themes the first page on the default theme displays all the posts which I think may correspond to what should be displaying on the blog (primary post list) page of my site.
