   ok, I had it all running fine since .. june. and then suddenly after this change with 2.2, all my old japanese entries that were written with Japanese have all turned to "????????". i decided to just simply make a new blog and export all my everything to that new blog, and though all my old entries were still "???" at least my new ones showed up as they should (this includes comments, catagories, titles, blog name, everything). suddenly, out of nowhere, when I was just browsing through my blog I noticed that the title of the blog turned to "?????????" again so I rushed to the front page to notice that, yes, my newest entry had turned to "?????"

   please please help! i don't know what to do..! the encoding for pages and feeds is set to UTF-8 so I have no idea what to do. please please ahhh please help!

   Were you ever able to get this resolved? I am now having a similar issue, and do not know how to solve it.

   I'm also facing the same problem like hanhan too. I just set up a New Wordpress Blog, imported posts from my previous blog and they all turned to ??? though my blog is UTF-8. It'll be great if there'll be some guide or support when it comes to fixing this. Thank you. (:

   Some of my website which have some japanese wording, its not only showing ???? but also some other type of characters after upgrading to the new version. Before upgrade, all of the plugin same and after upgrade also same. Not sure what went wrong.

   I just got the same thing. was all working fine until I upgraded from 2.0 to 2.5. My entire blog is totally unreadable...
