When I use this in a post, when that post gets emailed to subscribers [jpsub] shows up in that email. Is there any way to prevent the actual shortcode from appearing in the email?

Unfortunately, jetpack currently doesn’t filter out shortcodes from Subscription emails. That’s a known issue though, and we’re working on fixing this in a future Jetpack update.

Jeremy,
So if you can’t filter out shortcodes from the email message…
…can we just turn off or not include the post content/excerpt?
Basically just leaving a link to the post.

…or can we use a custom excerpt?
