Subcategories and conditional tags (2 posts)

This is kind of two questions. My website is http://www.dojodeals.com . I want to have a few main categories like Freebies, Coupons, Deals, and Contests. Then under each of those parents categories I want subcategories like food, computers, clothing, etc.

Basically I want to make a static Page for each parent category, and on that page display links to the subcategories, but only subcategories that are ALSO tagged with that parent category. I hope this makes sense and I hope someone can help me out. Thanks.

    Partially, it does (make sense).
However, if you want to stay sane:
    - don't mix Pages and posts. That's bad omen.
    - categories and tags are absolutely not the same, therefore posts are not "tagged" with a category: they are in a category (or are assigned to it). Tags are a different animal.

Instead of Pages use Category_Templates - you can make them to dislpay whatever you want and without all the headache that comes if you want to force Pages to do that. They are simply not meant for that.
