   Just moved servers, here's a question.
   I have a buncha old posts on my old server that I now want to preserve in the new blog as a form of "time capsule."
   I'm kinda, well, bad with figuring stuff out for myself, so how exactly do you go about dumping the files from the MySQL and then import them into the new blog without overwriting any of the new posts?

   For the first part of your question see the Wiki.
   Why do you think the old posts would "overwrite" the new ones? Just wondering... I am not a MySQL wizard either :)

   when i did that i did it manually. in short.. saved the new posts in a second dump, replaced the new posts with old posts and manually tacked on my new posts to the database.

   I have a tendancy to uh... break stuff... :)

   i believe that they won't overwrite each other.. but post-ids prolly will conflict.
