That’s a big job and not for the feint of heart, but if you have a patients and perseverance it’s completely doable.
You’ll need to run some kind of “server on your local box like XAAMPP.

Well, I’ve installed XAMPP and I’ve done a backup of my files via FTP and database, the site already runs locally on my computer, but the links redirect to off-site server.

Once you’d done that, then check in the codex here for “Moving a site” – That info gives you all the details to reconfigure you WP install to it’s new location.
