• I want to post something I wrote in one of my categories ONLY (for example, I wrote an article about Socks. I want this to go directly into my Socks category and ONLY show up there. I don’t want it on the home page). How do I do this? I have searched the forums but I am not tech saavy and need a SIMPLE solution.
Thank you in advance for your help!

  • You probably have a default category. Edit the post in the admin and uncheck that default category, save it. If you don’t have a default, create one (your choice of names), assign to be default, then change the post you want assigned different

julie, there’s lots of approaches for that, but basically not a super-super simple solution unless you try a little trick. You pretty much have to edit your theme template(s), but I get the impression you wouldn’t want to get into the code.

So a trick would be, Edit Timestamp and set the date of the post to older than the oldest post that’s showing on your homepage. Like, if you show 5 posts on your homepage, make the new post “older” than the 5th post down.

If you don’t want to reset the date for some reason, then I can mention how to change your template… LMK
