    Hi there,
Great plugin. I decided to go with this because of the csv import.
    however it will not upload.
I keep getting “blank uploads. Below is what i’m getting when trying one of the examples.

    $opt_cat(ID): 4 Team slug: senior-elite-roster

    Team slug: senior-elite-roster
    Loading DataSource …

    Done.

    First Name:

    Last Name:

Title: No first or last name Slug:

    $opt_cat(ID): 4

retval = 1028 ID: 272 K: Bio V: Celebral player. Slow, but faster than Jackson. AKA “O”.,Mark,O’Donnell,55,LB,”5’8″””,165,Jr,17,”El Cerrito, CA”,USA,1V,St. John’s

    Hi super13,

    First the obvious questions:
    – What version of WordPress?
    – What version of the plugin?

Second, is your team senior-elite-roster at the “top level” of the Teams hierarchy? As per the usage notes, hierarchies cause problems. Right now you can’t have a teams category of Softball->jv; it has to be just jv.

Third, are you on a PC or a Mac? I think I addresed any end of line issues but I don’t have a Mac to test on. And is your server running Linux/Apache or Windows/IIS?

    Thanks.

Yes sorry for the lack of information.
    – WP 3.5.1
    – Team Roster 2.0.1
    – Senior-elite is at the top level.
    – Using PC / Windows

    I hope this helps

    Hi tommy,
I just uploaded that file (WP 3.1.1, TR 2.01.) and it worked fine. You can see the result at http://shoalsummitsolutions.com/dev/test-roster-plugin/

Based on the output you sent, the sample CSV file is getting mangled somehow. If you’d like, you can send the file to mark@shoalsummitsolutions.com and I’ll take a look and (hopefully) send you back a working version.

    Hi Mark,
Sadly not. Could not get it to upload with the new version of WP so i moved on.

Bummer. If you want to send me the CSV file, I can check it on my system. I suspect it’s a file format issue, but it could certainly be something the code doesn’t handle correctly. I’m happy to take a look.

    Hi Mark,
I got it to work for a short while with a fresh WP Install but its gone again and now I don’t even see the player information.
Seems like i have little luck with this plugin 🙁

    Hi super13,
Sorry you’re having problems. If you’d like, please send me the CSV file and I’ll see what happens on my dev site.

    Hi Mark,
I’m using your excample file. I think the problem uploading has something to do with a issue from another plugin. However the upload is not the biggest problem right now. The Data is not showing eventhough they are present in the player info… only Name, text and image are showing.

    Hi Tommy,
I think I’ve lost the bubble. Sorry. What exactly do you mean by “data is not showing”?

    • Do you mean you uploaded the data via the CSV import and can’t see it in the Players (add/edit) table?
    • Or you entered data by hand and can’t see it in the Players (add/edit) table?
    • Or you can see it in that main table but don’t see it when you click on a player to edit him/her data?
    • Or that you can enter the data and see it in the Player table just fine, but can’t see it on the user side displays?
    • If it’s the latter,

    • Which display(s)? The player table shortcode or the single player view or the taxonomy (player gallery) view? and
    • Can you please send me a link to the offending pages?
    • Thanks for your patience. We’ll figure this out.

I’ve having this same issue. Some imports will import one field, some import nothing at all. Not being able to delete an entire team of no names is making this issue one that is making me wish I had never updated. Sometimes we need to learn to just be happy with what we have.

    Hi mydavidsonsports-
Sorry you are experiencing this problem. What version of the plugin are you using? I haven’t changed this code in quite a while. Have you tried importing the sample CSV files that come with the plugin? What happens? If you could send me specific errors from the sample data, that will help me track down any bugs.
    Thanks,
    -Mark
