Support » Plugin: WordPress Backup to Dropbox » If WordPress installed in a subfolder, backup misses files

    Hi:
I’ve got WordPress installed in a subfolder of my domain, following instructions from WordPress. WP Backup to Dropbox includes files and folders within that subfolder (from WP General Settings > WordPress Address) but seems to leave out crucial files that are in the root or parent folder (from WP General Settings > Site Address), such as .htaccess and wp-config.php. How can I include these files as well in the backup? Thanks.

The plugin will only backup the contents of the WordPress ABSPATH. Due to security reasons it cannot traverse files outside of this directory.

Do you have a custom WP_CONTENT_DIR?

    Hi Mikey:
No I do not have a custom WP_CONTENT_DIR as far as I know. The only thing different is the two directories in the WordPress General Settings screen, as per the WordPress instructions I mentioned above. Is there an option to include these key files somehow? Thanks.

Ahhh, I see what you are saying now.

Currently the plugin does not support this configuration. If its a simple fix I will try and include it in the next version.

    Thanks for letting me know.

    Cheers,
    Mikey

That’d be great Mickey. Looking forward to it. Any idea of when that next version would be out? Thanks!

    Hi Mikey:
What happened? The new version 1.4.4 came out this week but the simple fix you mentioned above is not included. When do you think it will be? Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Alex

    Sorry Alex,

I did not get time to get it into that release.

Ill be looking into that and multisite for the next one.

    Thanks for your patience.

    Cheers,
    Mikey
