I spent about 1.5 hours searching the forums for help on this, but failed to find the answer. All want to do is edit outdated text on the Front Page. I can edit the blog entries. I can find and edit everything else on my site.
    1) one thread said the “front page” is actually a post, but it is not there.
    2) it is nowhere in my Pages listing.

So, where is it and how to I get to clean up the old text. It is a Easel theme site. http://www.bikewjw.org

  • Are you trying to edit the text that says:

“The Western Jersey Wheelmen is a year-round recreational bicycle club. We have road and off road rides during the week and on weekends, catering to all ability levels and interests. Social events bring us together periodically throughout the year.

If so, that’s a widget. Go to appearances > widgets and look there.

The one below: “With the transition to the new website, you will have to re-register for website access. If you are a member who has paid your yearly dues, PLEASE ONLY REGISTER A “GUEST ACCOUNT”:…” is also a widget.

OK. If a widget, how did you know? BTW, I inherited this site and did not create it. I think I can figure out deleting “widgets” but am not sure about editing them.

Hi. I finally found the bits. You gave me enough clues to follow. The text was in the “Over Blog” widget section. That widget bit was down the right side list of widgets.

Glad you got it figured out.
I knew it was a widget by looking at the HTML source code. The class “textwidget” was used, so that was the clue.
