Remove image from gallery without deleting

    Hi everyone,

    I have some image galleries with older images. I want to un-attach only some of the images but NOT delete them.

    Is there a way to do this? If so, how?

    Depends. Is the image gallery powered by plugin?
    If so, check plugin settings.

    Thanks for the reply but, NO – the image gallery is not powered by a plugin.

    Did you upload those images or are the somewhere in your themefolder?

    If you remove the link to an uploaded or theme image, then that image won’t be deleted. Only way to delete uploaded images is to go to your media library and delete them there.

    I uploaded those images. Killing the link by renaming the jpegs via FTP worked. Just wish there was a more elegant solution.

    IF you want , you could manually use the exclude – include attributes of the gallery shortcode ..
