  • Hey fk59,

    Here is a helpful section on the FAQs page:
    -> Browse To: http://lifeinthegrid.com/duplicator-faq/
    -> Find Section: “2. Installer”
    -> See Area/Question: “I’m getting permission errors what should I do?”

    Hope that helps!

    not really.

    Permissions are set to 777.

    No idea what i should do.

    What means “Fail: is writable???

    What means: “contains only one zip file???

    And why “no package file found”??

    Both are in the directory…..

    thx
    Frank

    Hi fk59,

    Fail is writable:

    This means that the plugin can not write to the root folder where the installer.php currently exists with its current permission. This isn’t just 777 it also applies to who the group/owner of your PHP process. You may need to visit your hosts documentation for how to properly get access on their systems. Also this article from the WordPress Codex will help point you in the right direction.

    [Fail] Contains only one zip file.

    This means the directory in which you are trying to install this WordPress site on can only have 1 zip file which should be the package.zip file. Even if you are using Manual extraction mode it will still need to be in the directory. If you say the package.zip and installer.php are both in the same directory then PHP may be having troubles trying to read them on your servers setup. I would try to connect with your host. If your on a localhost setup then you will need your web servers documentation to validate its setup with PHP.

    Hope that helps!
