WP not recognising <COLGROUP>

I noticed that WP does not recognize <COLGROUP> as a valid HTML tag, and it was adding
to the end of the line, causing the page not to validate properly. After browsing through functions-formatting.php I suppose the tag has to be added to the list of tags in the function wpautop. Should this be included in future WP builds?
