• Let me start with great product and idea! I installed the 1.0.4 plugin and widget in WP 3.5 initially, but then updated to WP 3.5.1. I have the same problem on both versions: dates prior to 1900 show up as 1 JAN 1970. The particular markers I’m working with were installed long before the site became a cemetery, so I don’t have a memorial service date. Any ideas how to display the correct dates? The dates were entered correctly and pre-1900 was not an issue.

Second question is I have the FP widget in a sidebar which looks great. When I click on a name or date, it just reloads the same page without showing the obituary. Is it possible for the link to open a new page?

Thank you in advance. I really like the idea of this plugin. With a couple of tweaks, it will be exactly what I need.

    FWIW, my site is http://www.wmpandg.com.

One other question: I put the shortcode on a page, but don’t want all the obtuary information on the page. It gets to be too lengthy. I think I am going to create a new page or obituaries and place the shortcode there.

My question then becomes: on the sidebar, can all of those links take a visitor directly to the obituary page?

    Thanks again!

OK, sorry for multiple replies to my own post, but I’m slowly figuring things out. The shortcode on a page resolved the link issue from the sidebar, so that one is resolved.

I still have the date display issue though. I entered a service date one day after the date of death. How do I get the correct dates to display? They are entered correctly.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jon

    Hey Jon

    Smartypants,

Thank you for the quick response. I downloaded and installed 1.05. I also cleared my computer’s cache, but I still do not display dates prior to 1900. When there is a conflict, it seems to default to 1 JAN 1970. When I go to modify the entries, they show up correctly. Then on the obituary listing as well as the actual page with the obituary, it shows the 1970 date again. I am currently downloading and installing 1.06. Maybe that will help.

    Hey Smartypants,

Thank you very much for trying to fix the date issue. I don’t know why, but I cannot display the dates correctly (prior to 1900). I have downloaded and installed 1.09 and cleared the cache. As before, all the dates are entered correctly, but they do not display correctly.

On another topic, how do I delete the “no pic image”? I put one in there that I do not like and now cannot find where it is or how to remove it.

I appreciate your work on this!

Hi Jon currently you can only replace the image, there needs to be a default image for obits with photos. Go to settings and you will see the file upload there.
