Direct Download Link

Hello,

At this point I have tried EVERYTHING. I tried using WordPress Download Manager but it doesn’t work. Nothing will upload in the plugin and I cannot find any helpful tips on the internet. I tried using Force Download Shortcode, that doesn’t work either and there are almost no resources for it either. I’m just trying to create a link that will directly download to the users hard drive not open in a new tab. Someone please HELP!

Nothing seemed to be on that page, but looking at another page — with a form that says it’s downloadable, it looks like you don’t have a file in the link:

<a href="http://www.phiredesign.us/rx-form" title="here">here</a>
```
is the rx-form a pdf?? Then you’d need the .pdf on it I think.

I tried to use this ode but it is not working:

put the file on server . And then provide the direct download link from your server

I found another way. I downloaded and activated “Google Doc Embedder” plugin. There was a setting on the plugin that is called Link Behavior at the very bottom on the settings page called “Force download (bypass browser plugins)” click on it and the shortcode you use that becomes a download link on a page or post that will automatically ask to download to someone’s hard drive when they click on the link. I think I will make a YouTube Tutorial on it someday. Thank you for everyone’s help.
