  • I just downloaded the theme and found the header section under theme options.
I think that you’ll need to upload your header images in the folder “wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/header/”

I think it’s best to do this via FTP.

Okay, well, that will keep me from using the theme, lol… I have no clue how to do that. Back to something simpler! Thanks for taking the time to answer, Christine

The Atahualpa theme is a bit much in my opinion. The theme options panel does my head in. I like the recent default theme Twenty Twelve very much and uploading a header image is much simpler.

Best of luck, finding something that suits you.

Thank you, Christine, I’ll be back at it today and I’ll look at the Twenty Twelve, happy wintry Sunday!

Per the Atahualpa on screen documentation

To add your own header image(s), upload one or several images with any file names anything.[jpg|gif|png] i.e. hfk7wdfw8.gif, IMAGE_1475.jpg, bla.png to /wp-content/themes/atahualpa/images/header/ through FTP. You will need a “FTP Client” software such as Filezilla (free), the Firefox extension FireFTP (free) or SmartFTP ($36.95).

    To Christine,
I understand the difficulty with the header. I am the same about that kind of complexity.

I went to Odesk and had someone put it in (Alfryngel Beltran) (he designed it too). He was great and very talented.

The nice thing about this theme is, when you get the hang of it, is that the author cares about it and updates it regularly.

Most of the free themes are wayyyy outdated and are abandoned.
I just had one break –It was an awesome theme too. SO sad (garland revisited)

You can change the size of the header (better to have someone do that) , the background color in the sidebars and the center. You can also have 2 or three sidebars and it has a footer widget.

One problem. I just inserted the update and lost my header and footer. But Alfryngel fixed it in a flash.

I am not trying to talk you into anything, but this author is one of the few that cares. Premium are probably the best, but I am still a newbie, so I dont know the difference yet!
    Good luck to you! Mary

As of version 3.7.11 you can put your have your header images, logo and favicon saved across updates. Checkout the directions at http://forum.bytesforall.com/

Might look back at this theme if the wretched theme update issue is resolved for once “we don’t support child themes or custom pages templates is done with”…it really is unkind to find this out after much ado…that said, theme updates should not remove custom content on a framework noted to be used for such…that is a framework said to be best to customize a site, shows an update, click, site is back at point one…sorry…no matter how this point is presented, it is still misguided, it is too complicated for most…just save the edits, standardize, stop changing each few months…it is about standards, open support, and ease, isn’t it?
