Double photos and .txt file added

    After a recent WordPress and Postie update, postie is now duplicating the photos in posts and adding ATT00001.txt files to the post with a paperclip image.

    If 2 images are sent, 2 images are saved to the server but they get put twice into the post. Then for each set of images, a ATT00001.txt file is added. SO the post ends up with 4 photos and 2 txt files.

    I’ve never seen this before after years of using postie.

    Also of note, all of my posts typically come form my iphone.

    I just tried sending one from my outlook webamil. The images were posted twice but I did not get the .txt files in the post.

    Are you using the text or HTML posits setting?

    One of the recent updates made sure that all attachments included in the email are posted. If you send a sample to postie-test@devzing.com I can take a look.

    Hey Wayne,

    just emailed test post to you. It was on HTML looks like by default again. I switched to plain. With plain it no longer duplicates the photots but I still get the .txt. file for emails sent from the iphone.

    Thanks. I’ve looked into the ATT00001.txt file and it appears to be added by MS Exchange server virus scanning (maybe some other mail servers as well). I’ve updated the attachment logic to ignore this file starting in 1.4.32.

    Installed 1.4.32. It’s stripping ATT00001.txt but I’m still getting successive numbers still. eg: ATT00002.txt ATT00003.txt ATT00004.txt etc….

    Since I only ever post jpgs, can I somehow update the functions file so it just strips out all .txt files? Or are you working on a general fix?

    You can, but I will be fixing this shortly. FYI – Any upgrade will wipe our your changes.

    1.4.33 fixes the multiple ATT*.txt issue.
