This plug-in is pretty sweet. I’ve been looking for one that has the ability to display different content in the sidebar to target specific pages. I have one issue though, I have made sidebar that just displays a bbPress login/register link on my forum page and it worked great. However, once I changed the permalinks to show ‘post name’ instead of the default setting, the login/register link disappears. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

What version of WordPress and Content Aware Sidebars are you using? Is it possible to create any other sidebars that work after the permalink change? And finally, does changing the permalinks back to default make the sidebar reappear?

    Content Aware Sidebars: V. 1.2
    Wordpress: V. 3.5.1

For testing purposes, I created a sidebar that shows an ad on the front page, and it works. After I changed the permalinks from ‘default’ to ‘post name’ the newly added ‘AD’ sidebar still works but the login widget for my forums page disappears. However, when I change the permalinks back to default, the login widget reappears.

Any insight would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

The plugin has been developed with pretty permalinks turned on, but turning them off/changing them here does nothing, i.e. I cannot reproduce your issue.

For your Forums page, do you use a special template/page or the standard /forums page?

For my tests, I used the following settings:
    Content: Show with All Forums
    Exposure: Archive
