• Hi,

One of my clients wants to install PostGator (http://www.postgator.com/) onto her blog. This looks like a scam plugin, but I’ve never heard anything about it. Does anyone know what this does?

Personally I’m going to say No right off the bat, but it’d be best if I could get some feedback to back up my “No!”

    Thanks!

  • I don’t think anybody would need it…

Thanks, I did see that post before I created this thread. But it doesn’t really give a solid reason to tell my client not to use it.

Every decent blog created with WP and having good content – will make it very fast into the G. index and other search engines. You can optimize a theme (better meta tags into the head), wise usage of headings and that should help the blog’s position in the search engines. Search engines crawl the whole web anyway, so you don’t really need to pay for “submitting”.
Make a google sitemap, use the G. webmaster tools – those are all for free and they help.

Warning. I am not a SEO expert or whatever they like to call themselves… but I saw many times the above tools working.
Nowadays the issue is NOT getting into the search engines (what the plugin allegedly does); the issue is to get on the top for certain keywords – which the plugin will not do, and doesn’t even say it would.
