I just got back from my first WordCamp conference. Woo hoo! Matt Cutts' talk about whitehat SEO has me extra sensitive to SEO.
I sometimes aggregate interesting food-related tips onto my blog so my small readership can benefit. But I always acknowledge the source and have people link to that source.
This morning on my Dashboard I noticed 3 new inbound links. (I never get inbound links unless it's MAYBE from a friend's site.)
2 sites look like aggregator sites ... and I'm not a judge of fancy design but the ads around does make me a little suspicious. A 3rd site is a WordCamp attendees site where it looks like he took the attendee list (which has our names linking to our blogs) and just re-pasted it there. Not really sure what value that represents. Just a little weird.
If this were happening to your site, would you take any action to have the inboundlinkers stop doing that or quote their source? What would you do? Is this like publicity, any of it is good?
I could leave the URLs here but then I don't want my own post to be flagged as spam!
